5 Favorite Movie-Inspired Universal Orlando Attractions

By | June 15, 2017

Universal Orlando Resort is an awesome place to see some of your favorite stories come to life, as the parks are filled with attractions based on favorite movies and franchises. There are a lot to choose from, but here are my 5 favorite movie-inspired Universal Orlando attractions.

5 Favorite Movie-Inspired Universal Orlando AttractionsJurassic Park River Adventure – Get ready for chaos (and probably getting soaked) on this boat ride into Jurassic Park. You start off with a peaceful tour of some herbivores, but like any Jurassic Park film, things go south pretty quickly. This ride has some great dinosaur animatronics and a thrilling (and wet) drop at the end. This ride is the main attraction of the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure, which has several other things to do for dinosaur fans.***

Initially you’re going through a simulation to try out for MIB, but it quickly turns into a field trip when aliens crash land in New York. Be aware that this ride does feature spinning.

E.T. Adventure – The only original opening-day attraction remaining at Universal Studios Florida, this classic ride takes guests on bicycle-style vehicles through scenes from the sci-fi classic E.T. It’s a gentle family-style ride, but one that’s fun for anyone that’s a fan of the film.

Revenge of the Mummy – Based off of ‘The Mummy’ from 1999, this is an intense indoor roller coaster that makes plenty of sudden drops and turns as you attempt to escape the mummy’s curse. The queue to this ride is incredibly detailed and has some fun references to the film, and the pre- and post-ride sequences have plenty of Brendan Fraser in them.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – While both of this and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts are absolutely worth a visit for fans of the films, my personal favorite is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. I love the unique ride mechanics, and that you get to live many recurring moments from the stories such as Quidditch matches, venturing into the Forbidden Forest, and facing down Dementors. The queue also takes you through many detailed parts of Hogwarts, such as a classroom, Dumbledore’s office, and the Gryffindor common room.
