Dining at Universal: Three Broomsticks Breakfast

By | March 23, 2017

The Three Broomsticks is a quick-service restaurant located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, and is the main restaurant for that area of the park. On a recent agency training I got to try a Three Broomsticks breakfast.

Dining at Universal: The Three Broomsticks BreakfastTechnically, both restaurants in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – the Three Broomsticks and the Leaky Cauldron – are reservation-only for breakfast, with reservations available only to guests that have booked an exclusive vacation package. Typically, however, the restaurants also accept walk-ups for breakfast. It is possible that during extremely busy times the restaurant may not have availability for walk-ups, but when we visited we were able to enter without reservations.

The Three Broomsticks offers a variety of dishes for breakfast, with several American-style offerings like an American breakfast and a pancake breakfast.

There’s also a traditional English breakfast offering, which I decided to try. I also got a Pumpkin Juice, which they have available with breakfast. (You can also get tea, coffee, juice, or milk – keep in mind they don’t sell soda in the Wizarding World!).

I enjoyed this selection overall – the sausage, tomato, and beans were good, while the scrambled eggs were about what you expect from quick-service scrambled eggs. The English bacon reminded me of Canadian bacon. I was also pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the black pudding – or blood sausage – though I think I was the only one out of the others that also tried the English breakfast. It does have an unusual flavor and texture, and may not be for everybody. If you want to give it a try, though, there are plenty of other things included in case you don’t like it.

The Three Broomsticks serves a fairly solid breakfast, and is a great place to visit for the awesome interior theming. I do prefer the variety of their lunch and dinner menu, but if you’re looking for a breakfast spot after taking advantage of Early Admission, the Three Broomsticks is the place to go.
