2018 is almost here, and there are plenty of new things as well as returning favorites that guests will be able to enjoy in the new year. Here’s what to look forward to at Universal Orlando in 2018.
Fast & Furious: Supercharged – This new attraction at Universal Studios Florida is expected to open in the spring in the San Francisco area of the park. The new attraction will take guests on a wild ride with the character and story of Fast and Furious – and, of course, the supercharged cars. The new attraction will also feature the Virtual Line system that Universal Orlando introduced this last year with the opening of Race Through New York with Jimmy Fallon.
Universal’s Aventura Hotel – In August 2018 Universal will open its sixth resort, Universal’s Aventura Hotel. Located next to Sapphire Falls Resort, this will be Universal’s first on-site high-rise with a resort-style pool and rooftop bar and restaurant. The resort will feature sleek, modern design and new technology, such as a tablet that allows you to operate the television, thermostat, and in-room dining, as well as some amazing views of the nearby resort and Volcano Bay theme park.
New Nighttime Show – While there are no details yet, Universal is expected to bring a new nighttime show to Universal Studios Florida after its sudden closure of the Cinematic Spectacular earlier this year.
Marvel Character Dinner – While this one has already started, if you’re visiting in 2018 you’ll have the opportunity to try a new character dinner offering at Islands of Adventure featuring your favorite Marvel superheroes. Guests enjoy a dinner buffet at Café 4 in Marvel Super Hero Island, along with opportunities to meet Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm and Rogue.
A Celebration of Harry Potter – This special celebration of Harry Potter takes place in both parks at Universal Orlando from January 26-28, 2018 with film talent panels, demonstrations, the Harry Potter Expo, workshops such as wand choreography, and more. Nearly all events are available to guests with regular park admission, but priority access with a celebration vacation package is recommended.
Mardi Gras – Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration takes place February 3 to April 7 with a nightly Mardi Gras parade, specialty food and drinks for sale, a concert series that takes place on select nights, and more. This event is included in regular park admission.
Halloween Horror Nights – Universal’s most popular seasonal event will return for its 28th year on select nights in September and October. This hard-ticket event features elaborate haunted mazes and scare zones themed to popular horror films and shows, as well as original concepts, and is not intended for children under age 13.
Grinchmas and Holiday Celebrations – For the 2018 holiday season we expect to see a return of many of the new events that premiered this year such as Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, as well as old favorites such as Grinchmas and Universal’s Holiday Parade.
